❄️ Coldwater 2025 ❄️

The UK Winter Rowing League

How It Works

The Coldwater Winter Rowing League features ten regional eights events, and two cracking finales each testing the mettle of clubs across the country.

In the regional events, the top 50 eights in each event will score points for their clubs:

Then, as the winter frost begins to thaw, the challenge culminates in two grand finales:

Here, the top 100 finishers will secure points for their clubs:

It's not just about individual crewsβ€”it's about the power of the collective. Clubs with the most boats in point-scoring positions will claim the Coldwater Crown.

Max points will always be on offer, no matter how many entries there are - so get out to the sticks and win big!

The Leagues

Coldwater features three parallel competitions, each split into Kings (Men's) and Queens (Women's) divisions:

Points scored at any event count towards all leagues a club is eligible for. For example, if a Thames-based club wins at Rutherford Head, they'll score points in both the Crown and the Chalice.

Club eligibility for regional leagues follows the established Head of the River Race rules for the Vernon, Page, and Jackson Trophies:
